Sony Pictures is considering the future of the Ghostbusters franchise. Original director Ivan Reitman says he would like to connect those films with last year?s reboot. In the early ?80s, Reitman co-created Ghostbusters alongside series stars Dan Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis. The film they conceived is one of the most beloved comedy movies of all time.
Released in 1984 it starred Aykroyd, Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and of course, Bill Murray. Reitman also directed its sequel, Ghostbusters II, released in 1989. Since then, franchise fans had been clamoring for a third installment.
