VIDEO : Neill Blomkamp Explains His Decision To Back Away From Big-Budget Films

Acclaimed director Neill Blomkamp has said that his decision to turn away from Hollywood movies comes from his weariness over having "brain-numbing discussions" with film studios. His new venture, Oats Studios, is dedicated to creating experimental short films. The director, known for his films District 9 and Chappie, has backed away from big-budget movies and thrown his support behind short films, saying that the platform offers him more creative freedom. In an interview with Den of Geek, Blomkamp explained his reasoning, saying, "I want to see online if there's a way to interact with people who like the stuff. If there's anyone who really likes it, is there a way we can interact with them?"
