Gilbert made the announcement on social media, noting the ceremony was not legally binding.
Gilbert announced her relationship with Elias just three months after she split from her husband, Jose Nunes.
She admitted that having feelings for another woman led to the breakup of her marriage.
Elias suffers from pancreatic and liver cancer.
