Comedian Bill Maher has apologized for using a racial slur on his HBO talk show.
HBO stated that the host's remarks on Real Time with Bill Maher were tasteless and inexcusable.
The network added that the segment will not be re-aired.
During his chat with Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska, Maher referred to himself jokingly as a house slave.
Maher made his comment in response to Sasse, who invited the comedian to visit Nebraska and work the fields.
