HBO talk show host Bill Maher is embroiled in controversy after using the N-word in a joke during an episode of his show "Real Time." On June 5, Senator Al Franken announced that he was pulling out of an upcoming appearance on Maher's show and there has been public outcry from the likes of Chance the Rapper and Black Lives Matter to have Maher fired. It was already a hard sell to get certain guests onto the show and now many industry insiders expect that it will become even harder.
