VIDEO : How Did Garry Shandling's Death Inform Sarah Silverman's Netflix Special?

Sarah Silverman's new Netflix stand-up comedy special is now streaming. This is Silverman's first special in almost four years, following Amy Schumer, Tracy Morgan and Dave Cahppelle's footsteps in signing deals with Netflix. Silverman dedicated her new special, A Speck of Dust, to three people she lost in the past two years: Harris Wittels, Garry Shandling, and her mom. She told the Hollywood Reporter that this time in her life "really informed what the special was and it was kind of a no-brainer to dedicate the special to the people lost." With each loss she said it was difficult to go back onstage "but would always go back to stand-up" because she thinks "that's how comics survive life is by doing stand-up."
