Wonder Woman is a film that director Patty Jenkins has desperately wanted to make for years and her enthusiasm for the film shows in recent interviews. In making her dream film, Jenkins was inspired by the 1978 version of Superman and fans will recognize small homages throughout the film. Jenkins said she has been "craving" sincerity in Hollywood films and hopes that its evident in her version of Wonder Woman. She said, "I think people might be looking for hope and optimism right now and that?s what I found appealing about Wonder Woman."
