The latest word from behind the scenes of the forthcoming film "The Batman" has one noted producer assuring audiences that Ben Affleck will return and star in the lead role. Ben Affleck's starring role in upcoming DC Extended Universe Films was in question after the original director stepped down from "The Batman." But "War for the Planet of the Apes" director Matt Reeves is stepping up to the plate, and things are moving forward. After spending a brief stint in rehab for alcohol abuse, Affleck has recently begun getting back in shape to appear in the movie. "The Batman" is expected to begin filming in 2018.
After backing out as a director of the aforementioned franchise production ? with War for the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves stepping up to the plate to helm the latest soon-to-be blockbuster event from Warner Bros.
