Janelle Monae and Leslie Mann are joining Steve Carell in the Untitled Robert Zemeckis Project, Universal announced Friday. The film will be about the moving true story of one broken man?s fight as he discovers that artistic imagination can restore the human spirit. Zemeckis will both direct and produce from a screenplay he wrote with Caroline Thompson. Oscar-winning producer Steve Starkey and Jack Rapke of Zemeckis? Universal-based ImageMovers banner will also produce, alongside Cherylanne Martin. The project will be executive produced by Jeff Malmberg, who directed the 2010 documentary upon which this film is based, and Jackie Levine.
