Oscar nominated Tom Hardy has been chosen to play the role of Venom in Sony's upcoming Spider-Man spinoff.
Nominated for his work in The Revenant, Hardy has finalized negotiations with Sony as they prepare to usher in a slew of movies from Marvel's cast of characters.
The project is one of the production studio's top priorities, and they aren't wasting time.
The film is scheduled to open on Oct. 5th in 2018.
But Ruben Fleischer, best known for directing Zombieland, is still in final negotiations to head the film.
