Daveed Diggs has found his next onscreen role. The Hamilton breakout and Tony winner has signed onto star in TNT's series adaptation of Snowpiercer, it was announced Wednesday as part of Turner's Upfront presentation. Additionally, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson has been tapped to helm the pilot. Based on the 2013 film starring Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton, Snowpiercer is described as a futuristic thriller set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, and the remnants of humanity inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. This marks the latest collaboration between Turner's Studio T and Tomorrow Studios, which optioned the rights to the film in November 2015.
