The estate of Tupac Shakur and Amaru Entertainment announced on Tuesday that they fully sanction an upcoming documentary on the life of the late hip-hop artist to be directed by Academy Award-winner Steve McQueen. McQueen, who is best known for directing "12 Years a Slave," issued a statement saying he hopes his documentary will help bring Shakur's story to life. "Few, if any shined brighter than Tupac Shakur," he said. Shakur died in a still-unsolved drive-by shooting at the age of 25 in 1996.
