Director Rian Johnson asked JJ Abrams to change the ending to 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'. The 43-year-old filmmaker is the writer and director of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi', which is the the second movie in the new 'Star Wars' sequel trilogy. Johnson has revealed how he was able to influence the Abrams-directed hit. Originally, BB-8 was going to accompany Rey to find Luke Skywalker. Johnson said he asked Abrams "if R2 could come with Rey, and if BB-8 could stay behind with the Resistance.
