Antoine Fuqua has locked up a first-look deal with the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group. The deal should start with Fuqua?s ?The Equalizer 2,? which is set for release on September 14th, 2018. The movie should begin production in the fall. The first Equalizer received mixed reviews from critics but made almost 200 million dollars. Other films expected from the director under the terms of the deal include a number of high-profile action movies, and a passion project of Fuqua?s about former Black Panther leader Fred Hampton.
