Kurt Russell hadn't seen the first 'Guardians of the Galaxy' movie when he was initially linked to the comic book actioner franchise.
Russell was going publicity for 'The Hateful Eight' when news broke that he was attached to 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2.'
After producers approached him to play Peter Quill's father, he got a tape of the first 'Guardians' movie and watched it.
