VIDEO : War For The Planet Of The Apes Director Discusses The Film's Influences

In a recent interview, director Matt Reeves revealed some of the surprising sources of inspiration for his upcoming War of the Planet of the Apes. The film finds Caesar and his army of apes engaged in a war with humans led by a character known as the Colonel, played by Woody Harrelson. Inspiration for the film came from Francis Ford Coppola's legendary war film Apocalypse Now, but also took cues from some other noteworthy, classic films.
