"13 Reasons Why" actress, Alisha Boe, joined former Vice President Joe Biden to speak on behalf of the "It's On Us" campaign against sexual assault. Boe stars as Jessica in the new Netflix series. Her character, along with the main character, Hannah, are both victims of rape in the series. The show received backlash for depicting rape and Hannah's suicide in such a graphic way. However, Boe spoke out against the criticism and said: "We really have to show how ugly it is and how much it can affect a person's life. It's not easy and it shouldn't be easy to watch."
