VIDEO : Nursing Homes Face Drug-Resistant Bacteria

Researchers discovered there is a drug-resistant bacteria colonizing nursing homes. They refer to them as multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria, and if their number keep increasing it could become a real healthcare issue. Seiner Allyu, of the Columbia Nursing School, stated, ?Identifying which patients are most prone to an increased risk of MDR-GNB will enable infection preventionists to tailor efforts and stem future contaminations. The results of our study suggest that there is much more to be done with regard to infection prevention within nursing homes.?
