She shared how she preferred smoking with her grown children rather than having drinks with them, and spoke of the positive effects that cannabis has had in her relationship with wife Linda Wallem. Etheridge stated that "Cannabis is a resource," and that she raised awareness in her children at a young age, allowing them to properly understand the plant's medicinal qualities, simply as if she was pointing to a bottle of prescription drugs, and argued that by stripping the plants notions of "naughtiness," it would become an activity that children wouldn't gravitate towards.
