MTV has announced plans to bring back "Fear Factor," the reality competition hosted by Joe Rogan which originally aired on NBC from 2001- 2006, and challenged competitors to a series of stomach-churning, "extreme" challenges in the hopes of winning $50,000. The network says the series will get a bit of a makeover, and will be hosted by musician and actor Ludacris. According to a statement the new version will be "custom-created for a generation that is increasingly empowered, while also more anxious than ever." The reboot will include new stunts and challenges inspired by urban legends, popular scary movies and viral videos. MTV has ordered 12, one-hour episodes of the show, which is scheduled to premiere on May 30th.
