The man who made Iron Man every kid?s favorite superhero celebrates his 52nd birthday today. Robert Downey Jr. was born on April 4, 1965, in New York. The son of two actors, Downey appeared in movies as early as five years old. He was first nominated for an Academy Award for his work in 1992?s "Chaplin." As Tony Stark, he?s become the face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring in three "Iron Man" movies, among appearances in other MCU titles.
