Joss Whedon is expected to sign a deal to write, direct and produce a Batgirl film. The 'Avengers' director is set to switch from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and join the DC Extended Universe as he is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring the superhero to life on the big screen with other characters who inhabit Gotham City. DC Films have already got their first female led film 'Wonder Woman' on the verge of release with Gal Gadot playing the Amazonian Princess and the as-yet untitled Batgirl movie would be the studio's second project focused on a woman.
