According to reports, 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon is in negotiations to write, direct and produce a standalone movie centered on 'Batgirl' for Warner Bros. The report adds that Warner Bros. Pictures president Toby Emmerich will oversee the project. Whedon, who created the TV show 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', has long been credited as a pioneering voice for female-focused genre programs.
