While speaking to the crowd at CinemaCon this week during a panel for the movie 'Fate of the Furious', series star Vin Diesel revealed that the film will be the start of a new trilogy for the franchise. Diesel explained, "As the world sees this movie, they'll see how this is the beginning of the next trilogy. There are characters who were brought in in Furious 7, like Kurt Russell, who were brought in specifically for this new trilogy." 'The Fate of The Furious', the eighth film in the series, opens in theaters April 14. 2017.
