A new biography about film executiv Sherry Lansing reveals that Angelina Jolie went through a series of drug tests to secure her iconic role as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. The film's director, Simon West, recalled that at the time of the film's production Jolie had a dangerous reputation, and her father, actor Jon Voight had even warned Paramount Pictures not to cast her. Jolie told West that she would do anything for the part though, even take daily drug tests. Jolie, who was 24 at the time, quickly became one of Hollywood's most in-demand actresses.
