George Michael was laid to rest on Wednesday during a private funeral service in London, England. Michael?s family confirmed the date of the funeral in an official statement to Entertainment Tonight. ?We can confirm that the funeral of the singer George Michael took place today. Family and close friends gathered for the small, private ceremony to say goodbye to their beloved Son, Brother and Friend,? read the confirmation. Michael passed away at the age of 53 in his home in the U.K. on Dec. 25, 2017. The Senior Coroner for Oxfordshire confirmed earlier this month that Michael died of natural causes.
