Actress Mindy Kaling dissed Newark, NJ in a recent episode of her show, "The Mindy Project." The episode featured Kaling's character, Mindy Lahiri, puzzled that the senator attended a friend's event. On the show, Kaling's character says, "Cory Booker? I can't believe he came. I guess anything to get out of Newark, huh?" Former mayor of the town and current NJ senator Cory Booker tweeted the actress and told her he does not agree with her portrayal of the city.
