An "Escape From New York" remake was in the works for years now. "Luther" creator Neil Cross was hired by Fox to work on the script. And now, a director for the remake has apparently been found in Robert Rodriguez. The choice supposedly is not 100 percent confirmed yet, but Rodriguez is said to be, "the studio's choice." John Carpenter directed the 1981 original about a crime-ridden future America. Rodriguez has a list of successful adaptations of comic books, such as 'Sin City' as well as action movies such as "Desperado" and "From Dusk Til Dawn."
