Melissa McCarthy appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, and revealed the genesis of her extremely popular impression of Sean Spicer seen on this season's Saturday Night Live.
McCarthy, who was asked to play Spicer by friend and SNL writer Kent Sublette, said she responded with a shocked, "What?!," asking how she was going to do that.
But when she got the makeup on, the resemblance was almost too great.
McCarthy said, "I feel like my dad and Sean Spicer had a baby, and it?s me, which makes it even stranger."
Ellen asked McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone, if he found her impression of Spicer sexy in any way. "I guess I'm into Sean Spicer," responded Falcone, following up that "sexy" was not the first word that came to mind when he saw the sketch.
