In honor of the Step Up Foundation, Selena Gomez surprised a group of high school students in Los Angeles with a visit. She gave a speech of empowerment to the room full of teenagers and let them know that she wanted the atmosphere to feel comfortable and casual. She mingled with the students giving them advice like "love yourself first." Gomez told People magazine, "Step Up's mission to empower young women is personally important to me and something even more crucial in under-served communities."
