Selena Gomez has a new TV series ready to debut on Netflix. The series, Thirteen Reasons Why, tells the story of Hannah Baker, a high school student who kills herself and leaves behind cassette tapes describing the 13 people she blames for driving her to suicide. While Gomez is producing the series, she's not acting in it. She has a personal connection to the material. Gomez said she was able to show author Jay Asher that she understood what it was like to be bullied. Gomez says that being on the Disney Channel was like going to "the biggest high school in the world." Gomez's mother also dealt with bullying as a child.
