According to the Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winner Forest Whitaker will executive produce CodeBlack Films' upcoming Angela Davis biopic. Codeblack, a division of Lionsgate, acquired the movie rights last year to the book, Angela Davis: An Autobiography, which centers on the life and legacy of the prominent civil rights activist. Whitaker who recently appeared in 'Rogue One: A Star Story', is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. He is currently scheduled to appear in Ryan Coogler's upcoming Marvel superhero flick, Black Panther.
