Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is getting a huge cover story for British entertainment publication EMPIRE magazine. In the cover story, Gunn revealed that while he was writing the screenplay for Guardians Volume 2, his lead actor, Chris Pratt suggested that Kurt Russell play his father, Ego the Living Planet. Gunn loved the idea so much that he finished the screenplay with Russell in mind.
