According to insider sources, Vladimir Putin's character has been cut from the upcoming blockbuster thriller Kursk. It would have been the first depiction of Putin in a studio film. The film, which is produced by EuropaCorp and directed by Luc Besson, tells the true story of a Russian submairine that sank to the bottom of the sea following two explosions. Besson reportedly decided to focus on the story of the rescue mission instead of highlighting the politics involved in the disaster.
