The 46-year-old British director-and-producer has opened initial talks with Warner Bros. Pictures about taking the reins on the second standalone Superman movie starring Henry Cavill as the Son of Krypton, according to website Collider. Plans for the sequel were announced last August and the 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' filmmaker is the studio's top choice to take control of the latest film set in the DC Extended Universe. Vaughn previously pitched a new Superman movie to Warner Bros.
