NBC's "Trial & Error," a new comedy crime mockumentary starring actor John Lithgow is set to kick off with a two-part premiere after the "This Is Us" season finale before taking over its time slot. Set in a small Southern town, the series centers on Lithgow's character, poetry professor Larry Henderson, being accused of murdering his wife.
