"Black-ish" actress Yara Shahidi said her college applications got a boost with a recommendation letter from the former first lady Michelle Obama. Shahidi also told W magazine that Obama gave her a supportive backrub before she took her Advanced Placement exams. She said the lawyer is "very amazing and such a supporter, which is something very surreal to say." Mrs. Obama and Shahidi appeared on stage together in Washington back in October for the International Day of the Girl event hosted by Glamour Magazine. Shahidi will soon begin shooting a pilot for a spinoff series featuring her "Black-ish" character, Zoey Johnson.
