In November, the third solo "Thor" movie, "Ragnarok," hits theaters. The first two films, "Thor" and it's sequel, "The Dark World," shared a commonality: both featured all male villains. For the third installment, Marvel Studios decided to take a fresher approach with a female villain. Not only did they secure a woman for the role, but they cast two time Oscar winning actress, Cate Blanchett. In a recent interview, she opened up about why she chose to take on this project. She told EW: " as a woman, these opportunities have not in the past come up very frequently and I think there?s a revolution happening from within Marvel." Blanchett continued to on talk about how exciting it is, and how crazy it is that it's taken until 2017 to cast a villainous woman in the Marvel Universe.
