In an excerpt from her new memoire, Sidibe says she underwent weight loss surgery.
The Oscar-nominated actress says she underwent the bariatric procedure in May.
Sidibe made the decision to undergo the surgery last year after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
In addition to the procedure Sidibe has changed her eating habits and is working with a trainer.
