VIDEO : Jackie Chan Talks About How Hollywood Competition Makes Chinese Films Better

Asian martial arts icon Jackie Chan is an advocate for more competition at the Chinese movie theater. Chan said that allowing more Hollywood movies into the Chinese market would put pressure on Chinese filmmakers to boost the quality of their domestic output. This year, negotiators from China and the U.S. are expected to reach a new agreement on releasing foreign films in China. China is now the world's No. 2 movie market after North America. More Hollywood films released in China would means domestic, Chinese films would have to compete harder for audiences and theater space. Last year China accounted for 58 percent of the total box office, roughly some $3.8 billion.
