(CNN)Actor Bill Paxton died of a stroke after heart surgery, according to his death certificate, issued Monday by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The surgery, which replaced his aortic valve and repaired an aortic aneurysm, took place February 14. The aortic valve is one of the most commonly replaced valves, according to the American Heart Association.
