VIDEO : New York Public Library Acquires Lou Reed's Archives

At a young age, the late Lou Reed developed a passion for reading and writing.
The native of Brooklyn later studied creative writing at Syracuse University.
On what would have been his 75th birthday, his widow and a New York library announced his archives will be made available to the public.
Laurie Anderson, his wife, stated his archive will be in the heart of the city he loved the best.
The Lou Reed Archive features a treasure trove of his life and creativity, including electronic records, photos, and thousands of audio and video recordings.
His complete archives were acquired by the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
