A rumor was spreading this week that Meryl Streep turned down an offer from Chanel to wear a custom dress "because she found another designer that would pay her to wear their dress instead." A rep for Streep told Entertainment Tonight that story is "completely untrue." The rep said, "Ms. Streep would NEVER wear anything in exchange for payment." Chanel has a policy of not paying celebrities to wear its clothes. 67-year-old Streep is nominated for a best actress Oscar on Sunday for her performance as Florence Foster Jenkins.
