According to The Hollywood Reporter, singer, dancer and actress Paula Abdul is set to star in a new NBC comedy pilot from 'Fresh Off the Boat' creators Kourtney Kang and Nahnatchka Khan. The single-camera comedy reportedly focuses on a young girl in the only mixed-race family in a Philadelphia suburb and the real-world issues that get in the way of her life goal: to become a Laker Girl like her idol, Paula Abdul. Should the pilot move forward, Abdul will play herself and be a series regular in what will be her first regular acting gig on the small screen.
