As previously announced, Terrence Malick's 'Song to Song' will open the fest. The world premiere of Life will close out this year's SXSW film festival. Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson star in the sci-fi thriller as a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station who discover what caused extinction on Mars and now threatens all life on Earth. The Columbia Pictures and Skydance production has a theatrical release of March 24, 2017. Edgar Wright?s Baby Driver, from TriStar Pictures and MRC, will show the first Saturday of the fest.
