Peter Jackson's film franchise blasted J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings saga, and anyone who starred in the original trilogy, to a new level of stardom. Stephen Colbert recently interviewed Uma Thurman, and staying true to his Lord of the Rings geekiness, asked her if she had truly turned down the role of Eowyn, the Rohan warrior. Thurman immediately answered that yes, she had turned it down, but she had a good reason. She explained, ?It was a very long time ago and I do consider it one of the worst decisions ever made, but I just had my first child and I was a little housebound." She elaborated that three years would have been too long to bring her newborn to New Zealand to film the movies, but reiterated that she regrets the decision. Eowyn was ultimately played by Miranda Otto.
