Emma Watson debated whether or not to star in Beauty and the Beast. She?s an ardent feminist, so the 26-year-old actress wrestled with portraying a victim in Disney's new, live-action musical. However, Watson came to the conclusion that Belle ?has none of the characteristics of someone with Stockholm syndrome because she keeps her independence?. The director, Bill Condon, saw a lot of Belle in Watson, and Watson in Belle. Watson says Belle?s superpower is empathy. The movie comes out March 17th.
