A month ago, Ben Affleck confirmed that he would be directing The Batman, which would be his first standalone film as the Caped Crusader. After Live by Night did not do so well at the box office which caused a $75 million loss for Warner Bros. According to ScreenRant, Affleck experienced a crisis in his art and questioned whether he could direct and star in a big-budget superhero movie. It is now confirmed that Affleck has chosen to step down as the director of The Batman.
