Mary Lee South-- Tom Cruises's mother--has passed away at the age of 80. She was honored in a memorial at her local Church of Scientology this weekend, where Cruise and his sisters, Lee Ann DeVette, Cass Mapother, and Marian Henry all attended. They were joined by other members of their family and friends. According to E! News, in 1986, Mary opened up to Rolling Stone Magazine about her son's success, saying how grateful she was for encouraging him to join local theater groups. She said his first performance in a high school rendition of "Guys and Dolls" was the awakening of Tom's "dormant talent."
