The 50-year-old screenwriter, whose previous credits include 'Cloverfield' and 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes', has held talks with Warner Bros. about directing the much-anticipated standalone superhero movie after Ben Affleck stepped down from the role in January. Matt is currently in post-production for 'War for the Planet of the Apes', which is due out later this year - but subsequently has a gap in his schedule to focus on the new Batman movie. "Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film.
